AUMO in Practice

Adelaide Town Hall

In 2016, the proceeds from AUMO in Practice went towards the startup of an exciting new charity, Keys of Life, headed by Daphne Proietto. For over 17 years, Daphne has been teaching children with disabilities at her home, helping students to achieve extraordinary musical development. With Keys of Life, Daphne hopes to see her work continue, passing on her teaching techniques and developing a network of studios and music schools that can teach special needs children the piano.

For the first time, our annual concert involved guest artists from the charity we were supporting. Daphne's students took to the stage and blew us all away with their incredible poise, skill and musicality. It was such an honour to have them join us. The night was completed by the Pixar & Dreamworks Medley, evoking all the emotions of the hugely enjoyable animated movies brought to the big screen over the last few decades.

Highlights included: The Hymn of Acxiom (Teng), Symphony No. 8 Mov. 1 (Dvorak), Bistro Latino (Jarvis), Recapturing the Hard Vibe + The Hard Road (Hilltop Hoods), Waltz from the Seven Beauties (Garayev) and the Pixar/Dreamworks Medley (arranged by AUMO's arranging team).
